As a small family-owned business, cancellations significantly impact our operation. To reserve your trip, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.
Date change requests within 7 days of the trip are not guaranteed and are subject to captain approval. If an approved date change is later canceled due to weather, the booking will revert to the original trip date and remain subject to the standard cancellation policy.
If ocean conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for nearshore fishing, the trip will be converted to an inshore fishing trip of the same duration.
Weather-related cancellations are determined solely by the captain. If a trip is canceled due to weather, we will attempt to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, deposits will be refunded (except in the case of approved date changes as noted above).

“My son (9) and I fished with Will just yesterday and the memories of that day will last a lifetime. Capt. Will is a Captain's Captain. A doctor's doctor. A renaissance man in every sense of the word. He not only loves what he does, he knows and shares his love of the deep biology and instills the importance of keeping it all going through conservation by making it a fun subject. We caught plenty of fish, including spotted sea trout and redfish and now that I see he's doing shark tooth trips on his website, I'm planning that next date with my wife.”

Captain Bill is a licensed U.S. Coast Guard captain and the full-time owner and operator of Tight Line Outfitters in Folly Beach, SC. CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified, he runs safe, professional trips for anglers of all experience levels.
Born in the foothills of North Carolina, Bill started fishing early on his grandfather’s farm. After moving to South Florida at age 12, his passion accelerated — especially after landing his first tarpon at 13.
He later studied Outdoor Education and Wilderness Leadership and spent his free time guiding fly fishing trips for wild brook, brown, and rainbow trout. That background eventually brought him to Charleston’s inshore waters, where he founded Tight Line Outfitters in 2015.
Captain Bill isn’t a part-time guide — fishing is his career and lifelong pursuit. With experience across freshwater and saltwater fisheries and a strong focus on conservation and local ecology, every trip delivers more than just fish: it’s a true Lowcountry on-the-water experience.
The Goose is a comfortable 25-foot Sea Hunt BX BR bay boat powered by a Yamaha 300 and equipped with a Minn Kota trolling motor and 12-foot Minn Kota Talon shallow water anchor system. This setup allows us to position quietly and precisely, putting anglers on fish faster.
Designed for a smooth, confident ride, the Goose handles a wide range of conditions with ease — from inshore creeks and flats to nearshore reefs. With generous casting space at both the bow and stern, anglers fish comfortably and safely.
The boat features ample storage for gear and personal items, along with an onboard cooler for drinks and snacks. Water and ice are always provided on Folly Beach fishing charters and other excursions.
Charleston’s creeks, rivers, marshes, and nearshore waters create one of the East Coast’s most productive fisheries. Tight Line Outfitters offers guided inshore and nearshore fishing charters departing from Folly Beach, with access to Charleston and Kiawah Island waters.
Whether you’re new to fishing or chasing a bucket-list catch, we’ll tailor the day to your group and the conditions.
